Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible, you must:

Be in a genuine, ongoing relationship

Be married or in a de facto relationship (12 months cohabitation or registered)

Be sponsored by your partner who is an Australian citizen or Australian Permanent Resident

You will be required to pay the following fees and charges:

How Long Does It Take?
Processing times vary, but many partner visas take 10–30 months. The permanent stage is typically assessed 2 years after your initial application. Please visit the Department's website for the most accurate information on visa timeframes.
